It’s near Hillsborough county line in the northern part of Pinellas.

The preserve is open daily from 7am to an hour before sunset.
On the website they make is clear this is not a park, it’s a wilderness area!
There are about 8700 acres in the preserve.
It was set aside because it’s part of our water shed for Tampa Bay.
There are lots of animals there, but you’ll have to search for them.
We have seen alligators, gopher tortoise, birds, rabbits and snakes.
One time we saw a rattle snake in the road!
Turtles live in water and a tortoise lives on land.
You can both at the preserve.
There is nine miles of equestrian trails at Brooker Creek also.
You can ride through the pinelands and fields there.
Check out the events calendar for the preserve.
