Pinellas trail FREE
This is a long trail that goes the length of the county. You can walk or ride your bike.
There are lots of shops close to the trail.
Wall Spring Park, FREE
Here you can walk on a hot top path through the park. This park is on the Gulf of Mexico so there’s lots of water animals. There is also a large natural spring to see. At the spring you’ll see fish and birds. There is a lookout tower at the back of the park that’s easy to climb. The parking lot is large and can accommodate lots of vehicles. There is a playground area for the kids to enjoy. Walking through the park I came upon a tree hugging tree! Click Here to see tree and more on the park.
John Chesnut Sr Park, FREE
This park has it all, trails, boat launch, Lookout Tower, Dog Park, Kids Park, Bathrooms and more.
This is a great place to walk around with your camera. There are lots of alligators, Deer, Birds and more.
There is a boardwalk that winds it’s way through the park. We often see deer on the boardwalk.
Fred Howard Park Tarpon Springs Some Parts are FREE
The beginning of the park is for picnics and kayaking area. There is an area for the kids to play.
But if you want to get to the beaches you’ll have to pay some money.
The cost to park a car close to the docks is about $10 a day.
You really won’t be spending the whole day there.
A few hours is about all you’ll need to explore the area.

The best free things to do in north county that are FREE!
You can bring your dog with you just be courteous of others, clean up the mess.
Sponge Docks in Tarpon Springs, FREE
Lots of small shops to spend time in looking for treasures. The food here is great especially if you love Greek food. The free parking is somewhat limited, you’ll have to park on the side the road. There are some side roads. If you don’t mine spending some money to park your car there’s plenty of lots.
The cost to park a car close to the docks is about $10 a day. You really won’t be spending the whole day there. A few hours is about all you’ll need to explore the area.
Pop Stansell Park, FREE
Here there is a playground for the kids to enjoy. The park is right on the gulf with a kayak, canoe boat launch. There county government just stopped folks from launching motorized boats.
There is a stage there but I’ve never seen it being used. This is a nice place for a picnic while the kids run around and play. There is not many parking stops, maybe 10. You can park on the side of the street near the park.
Dunedin Causeway FREE
this is a great place to get outside, walk and relax. There is always a nice breeze and people having fun.
At the far end of the causeway you’ll find Honey Moon Island. This a nice park but they charge to get in.
There are lots of beaches, trails and large parking lots. This is a great place for taking pictures of birds.
The beaches have lots of rocks and old road asphalt in it. You’ll need water shoes to walk in the water.
Anderson Park on lake Tarpon. FREE
This park is right on the lake and there’s lots to do and see. There is an area for the kids to play.
It’s dog friendly but bring your leash. There is also a boat launch there.
Philippe Parkway in Safety Harbor. FREE
This park is on Tampa Bay with great views of the Tampa skyline. There are areas for the kids to play and run.
